We have a new site!! Click here to visit! http://alongtheborder2.tripod.com
Thankyou
for
visiting!!
We are Richard
and Angela and we would like to let you know of our work
with the Karen ethnic group along the Thai-Burma (Myanmar) border.
We arrived here in Thailand in March 2003. We are working independently,
but collaboratively with the Karen Youth Organization (KYO) and
the Karen Women's Organization (KWO).
We are extremely
happy to be sharing our project with you. Whether you are a donor
or just an interested visitor, we are thankful that you are taking
the time to explore our site. Please take a look into our last
six months along the Thailand-Burma border. More importantly though,
we hope you will learn something about the refugees from Burma
and the desperate situation within their homeland.
At
the moment, there is a lot of international media attention regarding
the imprisonment of the 1992 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Daw Aung
San Suu Kyi, by the Military Dictatorship of Burma. Now is a critical
time for the future of the country in it's struggle for democracy.
Please
take the time to look at our pictures, and let them tell you more
than our words ever could. We hope you are compelled to return
to our site to continue to learn more about the situation along
the border and within Burma. We have added links to other sites
with more in-depth information. Please let us know how you feel
about the site and our project.
